Job Summary and Qualifications

Respiratory Therapist Neonatal/Pediatric Transport - full-time, night shift

Job Summary: A transport respiratory therapist (RT) is a registered respiratory therapist whom upon completion of the transport orientation provides comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill or injured neonate and children. The transport respiratory therapist, through the use of expanded clinical skills, is responsible for accurate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in accordance with established protocols while on the transport and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), or Emergency Department. The RT is responsible for the stabilization and care of patients during transport under the direction of designated HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital physician or accepting provider. The transport RT is also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• NICU experience is required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• STABLE must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community. We have the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the region. Together, we continue to raise the bar in healthcare.
