Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Radiology Director and/or Lead Technologist performs those duties directly or indirectly related to the application of high frequency sound waves to provide static, real time and Doppler images/wave forms of the internal human anatomy to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and pathology. It must be noted that the exam diagnosis is almost entirely dependent upon the quality of images and data presented to the radiologist. The radiologist must have complete trust upon the skills of the sonographer. Sonographic exams are predominantly dependent upon the skills of the sonographer and not necessarily the quality of the equipment used. The successes or failure of the employees in this position lies mostly with the quality of their skills as demonstrated to the radiologist. The person in this position must hold one or more advanced certifications in the field of Medical Ultrasound Technology one of which must be a vascular certification

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• Registered ARDMS and Vascular Technician (RVT)
